WHAT you’ll NEED
Here’s what you’ll need to make your website work. You don’t have to purchase your domain and hosting in advance. Squarespace will prompt you to do it when your website is ready. You’ll also get a 3-month trial to edit your site before purchasing a Squarespace plan to launch your site.

If you don’t already have an account, you’ll be prompted to create one when you accept your invite to access the new website.
If you already have a Squarespace account, make sure you enter the same email address you log in with during checkout. That’s where the access link will be sent. -
You’ll have 3 months to edit your website privately as a trial. Once you’re ready to publish it, you’ll need to purchase a Squarespace plan (“Core” or higher.) This is what hosts your website online.

This is the URL or “address” that points to your website. (eg. carlysoperdesign.com) This can be purchased from your own Squarespace account and they’ll walk you through the connection, which usually takes just minutes.

Choose your favorite template
When you purchase your favorite template, you’ll get an instant file download containing your Template Installation Guide. It will also come in a confirmation email – Please check your spam filter if you don’t see it.

Receive your new template
Your link to access the new website will be sent from CSD and Squarespace within 2 business days of purchase. Once you accept the invitation, your new website is instantly transferred into your Squarespace account.

Edit and launch
Once you’re in, you can immediately start editing your new website! You can also take advantage of the Template Resources area for added help.

Getting started simply requires a free Squarespace account. Once your template is transferred to you, you will set up your own billing with Squarespace to launch your website.

Yes! I offer support for any template-related issues and questions. However, I do not provide free support for Squarespace questions as they have excellent tutorials and support already available.

You will need a domain name if you don’t already have one, and hosting in order to launch your website. Both of these can be purchased through Squarespace once your new site is ready.

Some of the templates include custom CSS to add cool features to the style. However, you will not need to know how to code in order to use the website.
Instructions will be provided for any CSS included in case you do want to edit it yourself, but it’s not necessary.

The template gets added to your Squarespace account as a new website with a 3-month trial period. All you need to do is accept the invitation link we send and it will appear in your Squarespace dashboard ready to work with. After you’ve accepted the invitation, the site ownership transfers to you.

Whenever possible, the templates use free / Google fonts or pre-licensed custom fonts so you don’t have to license anything.
If a template uses a font that requires an additional license it will be noted in the purchase area and installation instructions for that template.
Most templates feature free stock images and videos. There are some that use images from paid stock photo subscriptions. Any usage restrictions will be noted accordingly in the purchase area and installation instructions for each template.

Every template layout comes optimized for mobile. Just be sure to check it after swapping out your information.
Each template also has SEO basics installed, which you can edit yourself or using Squarespace’s AI after you make your changes, customizing as much or as little as you like.

If you already have a working website, you’ll need to disconnect your domain from the old site and reconnect it to your new website once you’re ready to launch the new site. You will also need to pay for hosting (monthly or yearly) the new site on Squarespace with a pricing plan.
Squarespace support will guide you through the process of configuring your domain.
